I’m not a huge resolution girlie, but I do go hard for selecting a word for the year to focus on in every area of my life and business.
In 2023, that word was simplicity – which I felt like I baked pretty well into every area of my life, even with TWO moves, a brand new house, and some of the busiest seasons of my business to date.
This year, this word came to me and then was CONFIRMED in so many places (mainly scripture—the word peace was ALL OVER my Bible as soon as I made that my word!)
PEACE.
But hold up, you say—you have a three year old! You have a business! You’re a homeowner! You have a brand new lab puppy (I have no words, it just happened!)
The type of peace where I have a leisurely morning routine with coffee and a walk, or the type of peace where my home is silent and I meditate multiple times a way, or the type of peace where I have spaciousness in every part of my day—this ain’t it.
I’m talking about the type of inner peace where my three year old is having a tantrum, the puppy has pooped on the floor, the laundry basket is overflowing, I have a major work deadline, and yet I feel this deep sense of peace from within that I know I can’t lose.
A really big part of this is my faith—my prayer recently has been for rest, patience, and peace, and I truly believe that I could not achieve those things fully without help from the Lord.
Do you have a word for the year? I’d love to hear it!
