Voxer Convos from the Minimind

Join me and 8 designers in my 1:1/group hybrid program to bring ease back into the not-so-easy parts of running a design business. The Design Minimind™ combines 1:1 time and attention, a small-group-style community, and a video curriculum. Add in an extensive template library and a voice-note small group? I like to call it a win-win-win.

Combining 1:1 mentorship, a small-group environment, and a structured curriculum.

The Structure

The second cohort of this program runs from Jan. 9 - June 27, 2024. Each month has a featured topic that we'll be working through in the modules individually in Teachable and as a group in Circle and our calls. However, the flexibility of a small group like this allows for us to explore custom topics that feel relevant to you and your business. Think loose structure with no topic off-limits.

The designers alongside you will be the most positive, supportive people you might be missing from your solopreneur journey. The intentionally small group allows your voice to be heard and truly lasting connections to be made. The other designers will be in similar seasons of business, but they will also have different stories and lifestyles. Learning from and growing alongside others is so powerful (and more fun, in my opinion!)

Circle is an online community platform that will allows us to get to know one another, follow threads, post questions, and find what you need. It will be the hub of the Minimind! Imagine if Facebook Groups and Slack had a baby - but make it ~aesthetic~ (and SO user-friendly).

A major difference from my 1:1 Mentorship container, the Minimind will feature a pre-recorded curriculum in Teachable that you will work through on your own time each month. Each video will be short and simple, and you'll also be able to listen without looking at the slides in case you're busy with littles ones or something else.

Something I hear from designers all the time is that they miss the 1:1 elements of a coaching container in more group experiences. Having my eyes and ears on your business and your struggles will help you get more out of the program and work through challenges unique to YOU and YOUR business.

We'll have two calls as a group each month. They'll cover an intro or review of that month's curriculum and a hot-seat style Q&A so everyone has an opportunity to work through challenges specific to their business. Think casual & laidback, but also productive calls!

Sometimes you just need a listening ear to challenges specific to you (a tough client, a new discovery call, scoping a project, mapping out your marketing, etc.). You'll have a private voice memo and text channel with me in Voxer where I will pop in 1x/week to answer your questions.

In addition to your 1:1 Voxer channel with Jen, you'll have a Voxer group with the other Miniminders where you can voice note or text about any topic, whether that's the curriculum, questions, wins, struggles, etc. This was a favorite of the first Minimind cohort!

You might feel a little too close to your business to get a good picture of what's working and what isn't. During the program, you'll receive short loom videos from HJC's associate designer Lauren on the items below so you can identify what changes you can make right away to optimize conversion.

Want to steal basically everything in my business? The HJC Resource Library is a Notion database full of all my Figma/Illustrator templates, Notion templates, videos of me designing and presenting to clients, and more. It's always being updated with new content so you have a behind-the-scenes view into the operations of Hello June, in real time.

Seeing the way Jen has built her business around the life she wants to live was the reason I KNEW I needed to learn from her because she embodies everything I am striving to be as a business owner. I now have all the tools I need to take my business to new heights and create the life and business of my dreams!

"Jen is the best hype-woman, big sister in business, and teacher you could ever want and she provides SO much value! Even in our 1:1 Voxer Chats I feel like I have gained SO much knowledge by having Jen in my pocket.

—Miriam Noble, Miriam Noble Design, Minimind

Jen is thought out, organized, intentional, attentive, and patient. She created a platform with so many amazing resources, guides and the curriculum which covered every aspect of a business. Not only did I get Jen's 1 on 1 guidance and coaching, but I connected with a group of like-minded business women who were a huge source of inspiration.

"I have seen ROI in every aspect of my business. I am booking higher ticket clients than ever before. I'm working with ideal clients, on target to double my income from last year, and have a new sense of confidence in myself.

—Ashlee Wright, The Creative Zest, Minimind

I gained clarity, confidence and perspective in the the next steps to take in my business. This group has helped me turn a dream into a reality. I'm now starting to see the ROI with relaunching my business in the fall. I can't wait to serve my clients with the best service and position myself as an branding expert in the food industry."

"The Minimind is the best investment you will ever make in your business because you will be a different person (in a good way) and gain perspective in your business you might have never have seen before.

—Katie Anderson, Homeaway Studio, Minimind

Jen is BEYOND generous with her knowledge and resources and does not gate keep success. She truly wants everyone to succeed in whatever way that looks like and feels like to them. I was able to create a solid foundation for my business that I didn't have before and that I will continue to build upon.

"I no longer go into sales calls with a chaotic frame of mind or just wing it. I have felt so much stronger in both sales and marketing and my mindset has shifted to knowing I am the expert when working with clients.

—Nics Norman, Studio Daisie, Minimind

Jen is an amazing mentor who has a wealth of knowledge (I constantly refer back to her extensive Notion templates and guides) and she cares so much about you as a mentee and as a friend. Talking to Jen and getting her guidance gave me so much confidence to believe in myself.

"I was able to hit my first $10K month during the program and was able to set client boundaries and carve out time to go on a 2-week work-free holiday as well!

—Madison Conrad, Soulful Solution, Minimind

Working with Jen was completely transformational for my business! I saw immediate change in my work life balance, client relationships, and pricing within the first 4 weeks of the program. I've never had a mentor so aligned in values with mine, and that made everything so much easier!

"I have more time freedom and life supporting schedule, been able to make my side hustle my full time job, achieved two of my highest earning months, booked a 9k project, and have more confidence in my pricing and sales skills.

—Danielle Beattie, Studio of Wonder, Minimind

I found my true values and have so much clarity for what I want to do moving forward in my business as well as what I share online. It was so awesome to have Jen as a mentor and have the other ladies in the Minimind to chat with! It was worth every penny, Jen knows what she is doing and this was so much more than I could have imagined!"

"I walked away with way more confidence in myself and what I was selling. Before the Minimind I felt like my business was all over the place but each module we worked through helped create an organized business.

—Katelyn Williams, Studio Kaly Creative, 1:1 Mentorship

"I've gained the confidence to charge 3x, 4x, even 5x times more than what I was originally charging. I had the biggest month in my business, finally surpassing the $10k mark with a $12k month.

Jen is your go-to if you want to scale your design studio in a sustainable way. She will help you gain the confidence to increase your prices in a way that feels good to you—she pushed me just enough to be slightly uncomfortable (in a good way!) She also has great advice about hiring, team structuring, and systems."

—Jen Chuah, Jenuine Creative, 1:1 Mentorship

I LOVE Jen - she has made a massive impact on my life as a business owner and mum. I would 100% recommend her to anyone but especially if you’re a time-poor mum or someone who wants to simplify and do things better and smarter.

I LOVE Jen—she has made a massive impact on my life as a business owner and mum, and I could not be any more grateful to her. I would 100% recommend her to anyone but especially if you’re a time-poor mum or someone who wants to simplify and do things better and smarter."

"Jen is the best investment I’ve ever made in my business!  The changes we made resulted in more inquiries that wanted to work with only me, and more saved time on my part. I've structured my business and offerings so that I can work less and be more profitable!

Month 6

Let it be easy (and fun). Now is your time.

My business mantra?

If it's not fun, it's not getting done. This mindset has helped me craft a conversion-focused marketing plan that I actually implement (and see results from!) and work on fewer projects but pay myself more than I ever have. I've truly focused on raising my *net* revenue AND working fewer hours - the numbers that actually matter. If you're seeking the profitability that will lead to flexibility and time freedom (the reason you started your business in the first place), let's work together.
