Hello June’s values are the essence of what I stand for and the foundation of my business. There are five values that encapsulate how I’ve built this business to align to my life and connect deeply with my clients.
I firmly believe in the power of human connection through old-fashioned phone calls (and now, video calls with my clients). There’s something so fulfilling and special about hearing the warmth and familiarity in someone’s voice. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to maintain connections with so many incredible people who have impacted my life. Whether it’s an old friend from high school or a prospective client, there’s so much power in finding common ground and building connection.
Color has always been a source of inspiration for me, both in my personal life and in my business. Color acts like a language that communicate the essence and personality of a brand, making it memorable and relatable. HJC’s brand colors all connect back to my Florida roots — warm pinks, a sunshine yellow, and a deep gray reminiscent of hot pavement on a summer afternoon. When I go out for froyo, I love to pick multiple colors of sherbet with all the fruit, and all the colorful candy on top. Finding the perfect color palette is one of my favorite aspects of brand design.
In my faith, boldness means unwavering conviction and living in alignment with my values. In my goals and dreams, it means not limiting my beliefs and pushing my own boundaries to get to the next level. In my identity, it means to embrace my most true and authentic self in relationships, with clients, with students, and on my podcast.
In the world of design, I believe that a brand can be colorful, vibrant, and bold while still embracing simplicity. Some of the most profound and impactful solutions are often the simplest. I also believe that life doesn’t have to be complicated. Finding simplicity and harmony is something I love teaching designers in my Minimind program. Leading a life of ease and minimalism helps me work efficiently so that I can spend more time with family.
Every brand I design carries a deeper meaning, a story that sets it apart from its competitors. Brands with a purpose, a story, and relatable personality resonate more deeply with their clients or customers. During the brand strategy phase, I uncover the why behind the brand and I translate those stories into visuals. This extra layer is what sets my clients’ brands apart from their competitors.
