1. Natural Light ☀️
Pick one spot and always shoot at the same time of day. That way your photos look like they came from a single shoot instead of a mix of images with different brightness levels across your site. It’s a small habit that makes everything look professional and uniform!
2. Human Elements 💁♀️
Show hands placing items, holding a canvas, stitching, adding a needle minder. Seeing the product in someone’s hands really helps people picture it in their own!

3. Finishing Inspiration 🪡
This one’s tricky, since half the time the canvases aren’t even in hand yet and they’re floating on a boat somewhere haha! Needlepoint sales benefit SO much from showing the finished product. So if you can, try to line up some ghost stitchers and ghost finishers to show finished stitches wherever possible.
4. Use Props In a Smart Way 🧵
Style fun trinkets, home decor, THREADS, or any cute little items around the canvas or accessories. They help it feel like part of real life!

5. Mix DIY With the Occasional Pro Shoot 📸
You don’t need a professional photographer for every product listing, but a shoot or two a year of your best sellers and the items you know you’ll restock can really pay off. Good lighting, your iPhone, great props, a fresh manicure, and a few friends can make for gorgeous product photos. That said, a couple of professional shoots a year can strengthen the brand and keep everything feeling fresh and current.
